A GOOD DAY

Today hubby did something he hasn't done for two years, three months and nine days. He went to work! I guess he was getting bored with being retired and just going golfing, going for a walk, taking a nap or watching Deadliest Catch or Dirtiest Jobs, so he found a part time job. His goal is to put some money aside to pay for diesel fuel for the truck when we take our next roadtrip, Florida in January!

I did some laundry, picked up a bit, planned dinner, and then did what all good wives do when their husband finally gets out of the house........I went out for lunch with my friend Judy! And then I met my daughter at the mall and I helped her spend a lot of money. And then we had coffee.

Yup, it was a good day!

Oh that WAS a good day. So how in the world did you talk your husband into getting a p/t job? I have tried everything to get mine to. I am so ready for some of that quality time...to myself.
what is his part time job any ways?

I am an apprentice electrician. Yesterday we were installing electrical components for an energy management system in Corparate Graphics Inc. a printing warehouse owned by Glenn Taylor who also owns the Minnesota Timberwolves. I told the company that I would work for just a hourly wage with no extra bennies. I wanted to stay part time so I could leave when it felt good. Life is good.

There Lisa, I guess you have your questions answered! Someone took it upon himself to answer for himself! But taking the job was his idea. I didn't have to talk him into it, but now that it's happened, I think it might be a good idea! Quality time alone is good!

Guess what??? mine is leaving at 0100 to deliver buses in Arkansas and then run over to Memphis to file a police report on a stolen bus and then back home. I will have a day to myself. And he will a day with a couple other retired fire fighters I think. This is his first trip of maybe many. Funny how things work out!

ps, Who or what are the Minnesota Timberwolves? I really feel out of the loop here! It must have been an important fact, but it went right over my head....

The Minnesota Timberwolves are like the Chicago Bulls, the Boston Celtics, the Lakers etc.. Professionals.

I was going to ask if his new job involved a blue vest and shopping carts, but I see that the job has been clarified already! :-) I think your new employer does some printing projects for the company I work for!

Ok,so it is basketball, I see.
Well the new job did not pan out for my hubby, so he is still here today. Oh well, there will be another day.
So do you think you will be going to see any basketball games?? I bet you could get some good seats.

Glenn Taylor owns maybe hundreds of these printing factories. We are just low life technicians installing energy management in one of his warehouses. We do not rub shoulders with the man. I did go to one of the Timberwolves games and watched Michael Jordan play and Glenn was sitting way down front. You have heard of Micheal Jordan....

I am so glad you had a day to yourself (with your daughter). That is the best. I am looking forward to spending a couple of days with just Shay and I.
