Our family lost a very dear friend on that fateful day. I'm still not sure how I feel about this new bridge opening. It just seems too soon.

I remember that, Mary. I would imagine it will take awhile to adjust to the new bridge. Hope you are doing okay.

I know it will be hard for many to see the new bridge, but I wonder if it was very necessary to get it going. The bridge had to connect two places together and I don't know if there were many alternatives. So to those in pain I am so sorry for their loss and pray they may find some peace. Yet I have to say the new bridge is a sight to see. Do you all remember when on Memorial Day about three years ago a bridge was hit by a barge in Oklahoma? We lost several people in that as well. They put up a statue paying respect to all those who lost their lives. Don't know if it helped those in pain or not, but that might be something they could do at the bridge in your picture.

May 27, 2002 (where has the time gone!) Bridge over the Arkansas River in Oklahoma. When I heard of your bridge I feared it was an attack, but I guess it was just an old bridge with too much traffic and no updates, is that right? We have terrible bridges in the Tulsa area and I can HONESTLY tell you I am scared when I cross them and I think of that bridge collapse often. I hope your healing can begin soon. Marge, I am not directing my comments towards you so much as any reader such as Mary who is suffering from personal loss. That was such a horrible tragedy!
