HUGE FABRIC SALE

Yesterday afternoon one of the gals here came up to me and asked if I had been to the huge fabric sale. No, I hadn't and I hadn't even heard about it! But you can bet I found out where and when and how do I get there. This morning, the first trip, Carole and I went off early, and we found treasures! Beautiful fabric, good quality, and a nice sale price. This will probably be a bag of some kind. It's really pretty.

This black and white was bought with a specific bag in mind. Oh, actually, I can probably get three bags out of these pieces..........

I also bought an open foot for my Janome machine. And then we went home.
After sweet talking my hubby, I decided, no, WE decided I could return to the sale. This time Carole and Bev and I went. And we found even more treasures. This black and gold is so classy. The photo doesn't do it justice at all. The gold on the small print and the gold on the black print, really stand out, making it very elegant. This would make a dressy bag and/or a nice holiday table runner. Lovely fabric. But my most exciting find was this bunch of
1930's reproduction or vintage prints. I bought enough for a quilt. It makes me miss my mom and my grandmothers when I look at these fabrics. I know they had "house dresses" and aprons out of fabric like these. I can't wait to pick a pattern and start on this quilt. Now I'm ready to go home so I can start!

Are you sure we aren't related? Nothing buckles my knees faster than a beautiful assortment of fabrics on sale...my head swims with all the possible creations! I'm trying to pick a favorite from your finds and can't...maybe the first set, I'm going through a Bohemian stage right now thanks to my daughter and those colors are gorgeous!

Oh my goodness, that will make a beautiful quiilt. I can't wait to see the end results. I have my aunt reading your blog while she is there in Florida and she loves all your crafts and handy work. She doesn't comment on the blogs, but she tells me how much she enjoys your pictures of your crafts. Just thought you might like to know!

That is a lot of fabric, did you have to rent a special trailer to get it all home!!!

What beautiful fabrics. I know how you feel - can't wait to get started. I discovered a small fabric store here in Quartzsite a couple of days ago. It's called Desert Fabrics, and you guessed it, it's full of desert colors and designs - southwestern. She had some of the most beautiful quilts and table toppers on display. But I was a good kid and managed to only look and not touch (buy) THIS time. She was quite spendy I suppose from being way out here in the boonies, but it was fun to look anyway. I did manage to work on my quilt for a while yesterday afternoon. It was too windy and chilly to be outside much, so that was a good way to spend the afternoon. Hope to have the top done by the time we get home so I can finish putting everything together. Happy sewing!!
