We made it to the end of the Alaska Highway. It's actually called the beginning of the highway, but because we were coming from the other end, it was the end for us! This is what the Garmin has looked like for three days. Just the highway. No side roads. No cross roads. No choices to make. Just drive. Follow the road. Pretty easy to follow! But lots and lots of bumpy roads.
The roads seem to go on forever........

We don't care if it's nothing but highway, it's good to see your post!
The scenery is very beautiful. I know you are glad to be heading toward home.
There's nothing like a good trip, but there's no place like home.
Continue to be safe.
I'm curious -- where do you buy gas on such a lonely, empty road?
Oh that is MY kind of highway. No traffic, beautiful scenery and the garmin just says....keep on going.
hmmmm, still wishing I was there! Be careful, you still have a long ways to go.
FosterAbba, there are gas stations along the way, although not as many as there used to be when the highway first opened. At first, a car could only go 50 to 100 miles on a tank, and in a day, so there were plenty of stations and lodges along the way. Now those places are closed, boarded up, and the gas stations are fewer. But there are always signs that say "no services for 120 miles" or whatever, so you have to plan! We usually only went to half a tank, then filled up.
We are within two days of our son in Grand Forks, then one more day home. I'm tired!
Oh my... I am pretty sure I NEED to take a trip down this highway. What a beautiful way to start your drive home... sigh...
