ALASKA 2012 - DAY 9

We made it!  We are in Anchorage, Alaska.  Today was a cloudy, dreary, rainy day, but the scenery was the most beautiful yet.

There were some tables on the deck outside of our motel room in Tok last night, so we broke out the little camp stove again and cooked up some bacon and scrambled eggs.  It was good.
I sure wish we would have had sunshine today.  The bright yellows would have been blinding.
I love the colors of the grasses
and flowers and weeds along the roadway.
The first sight of the glacier way in the back of the picture.
There was a house built to the right of this picture, sitting out there right in the middle of this gorgeous scene.  Wouldn't that be something to look at everyday out your living room picture window?

This is a big valley, leading up to the sight of
the Matanuska Glacier, spilling down out of the mountains, right into the valley below.

Again, it was a beautiful drive, even in the fog and rain.  We arrived on the base here in Anchorage and got our room.  Then we were invited over to Ernie's brother's home.  Gary and Joy served us an awesome dinner of prime rib and twice baked potatoes, and we enjoyed some wine, some conversation, and a lot of love!  Thanks guys!
