AND HERE ARE SOME MORE........

A little kid, maybe 8 or 9, was playing in thee waves and couldn't get back in. We watched as his mom dove in and swam out to save him. There have been many drownings at this spot. The water is very cold and the currents are strong.
I could sit on these rocks and watch the lake for hours. In fact we did just that.
Our campsite was down in the lower campground, near the water, so we were lulled to sleep
by the crashing and splashing each night.

The sun was hot, and we were thankful for a breeze.
Isn't it glorious?
I need my fix of Lake Superior at least every other year. I always leave here refreshed, and

this year was no exception. I absolutely love this place. Good night. My jaw hurts and it's time for drugs!

Wow! Great pictures! We live in AZ now, your pics make me a bit homesick (and cold!) :o) It's sad to think that I spent over 25 yrs in MN and yet know so little about Lake Superior.

Well no wonder you love to go here, beautiful pictures, beautiful area. I hope your root canal is ok and you've not had pain afterwards.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. I can almost hear that water.

Oh my goodness, I LOVE your pictures. I can see why you leave there feeling so.....new, so alive. I want to be able to go and see things like that. But I am so limited with having my dogs. I will not give up my dogs for it, but it does pose a problem. Someday maybe we will get a trailer and just take them with us!!!

Wow, great pictures! I really love the North Shore... I need to get my lawnchair and get out there this fall :)
John and I spent yesterday in Duluth. We went on the Vista Star, walked around Canal Park, ate at Grandma's and later Red Lobster.... I LOVE Duluth and Lake Superior. Your post makes me think that family camping on the North Shore is a Must for next summer! Glad you had such a nice vacation!

and lastly, so glad you saved your kokopelli and moved him to your new little trailer....I would have done the same thing!

welcome home...
(you seem to really like this mode of travel and my dh is thinking about something to get us to UT and back since that's where are gkids are, don't know if it wouldn't cost a fortune in gas...any suggestions? I have traveled in an RV years ago and didn't like it, not even close to a camper am I, so just don't know about this new idea! )

WOW! Beautiful scenery! I had never been to Duluth or the North Shore until last year, and I can't wait to go back! I'm glad you had a good vacation!

You are right about the dangerous waters up there. I lost one of "my" college kids there a few years ago. He saved someone else's life first, and was not able to make it back to shore himself.

I knew you'd have awesome pictures! That's exactly where I want to sit and watch the lake. Just can't do it with Andrew! I'm afraid he'd be the next victim to the mysterious Superior. I just love that area.
